A joint team of the Nepal Law Commission and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) called on Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at her Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban office on Monday. Vice Chairman of the Nepal Law Commission Bhesh Raj Sharma led the visiting eight-member Nepalese delegation, while Mike Robson the FAO team. Food security and people’s rights to foods were widely discussed in the meeting, said a parliament secretariat release. Besides, civic rights, political rights, health and education came up for discussion. Dr Shirin, also chairperson of the commonwealth parliamentary association, said Bangladesh has been able to have food surplus due to various policies taken for the food security by the government. She said Bangladesh has achieved remarkable success in production and supply of foods.
