CJ to administer oath of office to Prez

The government will organise a special ceremony in presidential office at Shital Niwas on Wednesday to administer the oath of office and secrecy to the country’s first President,
Dr Ram Baran Yadav.
Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri would administer the oath of office and secrecy to the president at 3pm and the President then would administer the oath to the Vice-President, Parama-nanda Jha, according to the Pri-me Minister’s Office and Council of Ministers. According to Ar-ticle 36 (f) of the Constitution, the newly-elected President shall take the oath of office and secrecy in front of the CJ.
According to the Constitution, the President shall be the head of the state and supreme commander-in-chief of the Nepal Army. The president would remain in power till the promulgation and enforcement of the new constitution to be promulgated by the CA.
The president would receive report of constitutional bodies including the Supreme Court, and would appoint the Prime Minister and Chief Justice.
The President would appoint Ambassadors and other special emissaries for specified purposes and may grant pardons, suspend, commute or remit any sentence passed by any court or by any other judicial, quasi-judicial or administrative authority or institution as per the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
